Boko Haram Kills 6 In Maiduguri

Men suspected to be members of the Boko Haram sect early yesterday morning killed  six persons at their homes in Maiduguri  in what is believed to be on off shoot of clashes of the factions of the sect.
LEADERSHIP gathered that the six people were killed at Kawar Mala in Shehuri north .
Spokesman of the JTF, Lieutenant Colonel Hassan Ifijeh Mohammed who confirmed the killing in a release made available to newsmen said the six people were suspected to have been killed by suspected Boko Haram sect members.
According to him, the deceased were also suspected to be members of the sect,  adding that the killings might have been as a result of division between them.
He said, “preliminary investigation reveals that the six  deceased persons were suspected to have been slaughtered by persons suspected to be their fellow sect members. The killings may have been as a result of division amongst sect members.’’ Lieutanant Mohammed said in the release.
He said the JTF would  continue to be proactive in dealing with members of the sect and advised the people to be security conscious of happenings in their environment.
Meanwhile,  residents of Maiduguri were made to sleep in fear  as deafening explosions rocked some parts of the metropolis.
The explosions which started at about 12.15 am yesterday morning  continous for about an hour.
A resident of Ngomari Airport area, Mallam Kaomi Bukar who spoke with journalists said he was woken up by a loud sound but could not say where it occurred.
The JTF spokesman confirmed in the release that some explosions occurred in some part of the metropolis but added that no casualty was recorded.
